Workshop "The Relationship with the Communities for 5 Protected Areas Administrations"

Between 9 to 10th September 2016, takes place in Poiana Brasov, the first training workshop for the 5 selected Protected Area administrations, on the theme "Relationship with communities and sustainable entrepreneurial development" within the project "Nature and Traditions for Sustainable Development".
The workshop will establish the theoretical background for the personalized mentoring process for the 5 Protected Areas, held at the end of the year.
The 5 protected areas selected in the project are:
• Comana Natural Park
• Vânători Neamţ Natural Park
o Eastern Zarand – Natura 2000 site / Zarand Association
• Hateg County Dinosaurs Geopark
• Soveja Natura 2000 site– Biological Diversity Conservation Association
Mentoring activities will be carried out within Protected Areas involving directly the administrators in a practical exercises about communities relationships.

These workshops together with the mentoring activity are part of the project "Nature and Traditions for Sustainable Development" which aims to increase the organizational capacity of 5 protected areas in Romania in order to fulfill their role as facilitators in the economic development of communities around Protected Areas.
The budget of the project is 74.816 Swiss francs (CHF), of which 7.500 are co-financing from ProPark Foundation.
The project is co-financed by a grant from Switzerland through the Swiss Contribution to the enlarged European Union, which was carried out between 1 of April 2016 and 30th of September 2017 in partnership with Natura 2000 network.
