Junior Ranger in Balta Mică of Brăila
The aim of the project was to educate and increase the involvement of young people in Brăila County in the management of the Balta Mică Natural Park in Brăila and to initiate voluntary educational activities for students in the protected area.
Project implementation period: May-September 2012
The financiers of the project are: Foundation for Partnership through MOL within the Green Spaces Program, Protected Natural Area Component.
Partners: Constantin Brâncuși School of Wood Processing Group from Brăila and the Administration of the Balta Mică Natural Park of Brăila.
Results:
- Establishment of the Junior Ranger Club, open to all children and young people from Brăila interested in nature
- Organizing the Junior Ranger camp in the Balta Mică Natural Park of Brăila where a number of 17 children were acquainted with the flora and fauna of the park, learned survival techniques, participated in recreational activities with nature themes
- elaboration of the guide “Sustainable partnership between an educational institution and the administration of a protected area” which can be a model of good practices for schools, protected areas or other interested organizations.
