Manual of good practices for guides
Mountain guiding is a regulated trade in Romania (HG 305/2001), as is leading tourist groups on a mountainous terrain (HG 77/2003).
This means that any person offering services as a mountain guide in the country (either as a citizen or foreigner) must be qualified for this trade and take specific legal responsibility.
The person leading a group of tourist on a mountainous terrain must be qualified as a tourist guide with mountain guide specialisation and work based on a certificate issued by the Tourism Control and Authorisation Directorate within the Ministry of Tourism (former National Tourism Authority).
