European Nature Academy Induction Meeting
Between 13-17 February 2023, the official opening of the European Academy of Nature took place in Schneverdingen, Germany.
We also participated, as partners in the project, through our colleague Mara Bulea (Coordinator of the Capacity Building Department) in the Induction Seminar. Here we facilitated one of the working groups and presented the TNA platform - a group skills assessment tool for Natura 2000 site managers.
The European Nature Academy is a LIFE ENABLE project designed to address the training needs of Natura 2000 managers and protected area managers. This Academy provides personalised training and professional development support, free of charge, for 60 candidates, who have been selected in 2022.
The aim is to help ensure progress towards achieving the goals and ambitions of the EU 2030 Biodiversity Strategy and the policies that support it.
To achieve this, the European Nature Academy's free training courses focus on the skills needed to manage Natura 2000 and protected areas more effectively.
Part of Propark's strategy is to actively contribute to the professionalisation of protected area management in other countries, through involvement in international initiatives and projects. In doing so, we are bringing professional capacity building and capacity building programmes for protected area management to the European level for those interested in adopting the competence-based approach.
Here you can see how these days of learning were for Academy students, trainers and facilitators.
