This educational and civic activism project was carried out by Propark, in partnership with ACDB and with financial support from the Active Citizens Fund – Romania (EEA Grants 2014–2021).
Its purpose? To train and support a new generation of young people actively engaged in the real defense of Romania’s protected natural areas.

What did we do?
We organized workshops (online and in-person) on environmental activism, field visits, and community events. Young participants learned how to identify problems in protected areas, formulate requests and solutions to authorities, and make their voices heard in the public space.

Why activism?
Because without an informed and engaged civil society, protected natural areas remain only on paper. The project proved that young people can become powerful allies in biodiversity conservation—when they are given the right tools and the confidence to use them.

This project is proof that the future of protected areas also lies in the hands of those who are learning today how to defend them.
