Environmental Education for the Future of Protected Areas in Mureș County Schools
At Propark, we believe that protecting nature starts with education. One of our strategic directions is to foster a culture of nature conservation through educational activities dedicated to children, young people, and communities. Because a child who learns to love nature today will become the adult who protects it tomorrow.
Between 7–9 May 2025, as part of Green Week, we carried out a series of environmental education activities in the localities of Sâncraiu de Mureș and Nazna, Mureș County, together with engaged students, dedicated teachers, and a valuable partnership with MARCOM SNIPPETS SRL.
The Bat Corner
An interactive workshop where children learned about the fascinating world of bats – their role in ecosystems, how they communicate, and how we can protect their habitats. Through creative games, audio trails, and programmable robots, the children built “bat-friendly cities” and explored the threats these nocturnal mammals face.
Wild Immersion – A Virtual Journey through Romania’s Protected Areas
Using virtual reality, students discovered the beauty and diversity of five protected areas: Piatra Craiului National Park, Lunca Mureșului Natural Park, Grădiștea Muncelului-Cioclovina Natural Park, Putna-Vrancea Natural Park, and Defileul Jiului National Park. The experience was enriched with interactive discussions and a special ecological quiz.
Field Trip to KROGAN Recycling Centre, Brașov
Environmental education also means understanding the impact of waste. Children visited a recycling centre, learned about the circular economy, and discovered how they can contribute every day to a cleaner, healthier environment.
We thank the schools in Sâncraiu de Mureș and Nazna for their openness and involvement in this initiative, as well as the students who showed that learning about nature can be both engaging and meaningful.
