On 7 November 2024, in Brașov, Propark – Foundation for Protected Areas hosted a heartfelt event: the Propark Gala – Professionals for Nature, dedicated to those who have stood—and continue to stand—by our side in our mission to support nature conservation and the professional development of those working in protected areas.

This was more than a gala—it was a celebration of partnerships, shared work, progress, and gratitude. We brought together dear friends from our extended network—collaborators, partners from Romania and across Europe, and colleagues whose dedication has made Propark’s growth and impact possible.

Memories and vision

The evening was filled with stories and emotion, with memories from Propark’s early days shared by founder Erika Vaida Bela, as well as Andra Hăgătiș and Tiberiu Chiricheș, who offered an honest, open look at the journey so far and the directions we aim to pursue in the future.

A space for dialogue and collaboration

Earlier in the day, we opened the Gala with a strategic working session – “Open Session with the Board” – a dedicated moment for open dialogue with key guests on priorities for professional development in the protected area sector. Together, we laid the foundations for new ideas, partnerships, and visions to strengthen the capacity of Romania’s conservation network.

Together into the future

Above all, the Propark Gala was an opportunity for communication and awareness—a chance to reaffirm the importance of collaboration and mutual support in a field where no one can succeed alone. We hope this gathering marks the beginning of a new cycle of joint initiatives and effective strategies for nature and people.
