In 2024, as part of our ongoing communication and awareness efforts to bring conservation professionals, the general public, and nature closer together, Propark – Foundation for Protected Areas took part in the Transylvania Mountain Festival, a landmark event where we had the honor of receiving the prestigious TMF Innovation Award 2024, in recognition of the innovation and impact of our projects.

This award stands as a validation of our work over the past 15 years in supporting nature conservation and the specialists working in protected areas. The nomination and the winning of the trophy were motivated by the tangible impact of our educational and professional development projects, including:

·       SMART Competences Assessment Tool (CAT) – an innovative online tool designed to support the organizational capacity development of protected area managers worldwide.

·       Centre of Excellence for Nature – launched as a resource, training, and support platform for biodiversity conservation and nature education in Romania.

·       Educational programs and training actions – contributing to the improved performance and motivation of professionals working in protected natural areas.

On 23 November 2024, our colleagues Tiberiu Chiricheș and Alina Paraschiv had the honor of stepping on the festival stage to receive the award on behalf of the entire Propark team.

We thank the organizers of the Transylvania Mountain Festival for bringing to the forefront the values related to mountains, nature, and conservation. This award motivates us to continue our efforts—now with even greater energy—towards building a strong network of professionals dedicated to nature conservation.
