In 2024, Propark Adventure Race reaches its 9th edition, continuing to stand as a benchmark among adventure competitions in Romania. For Propark – Foundation for Protected Areas, this event has always been more than just an endurance race – it is a strategic tool for developing the organizational capacity of protected area managers. Over the years, we have refined this outdoor event model, proving that sport can be a powerful driver for raising awareness and promoting the value of nature.

A defining feature of Propark Adventure Race is that each team bears the name of a protected area in Romania, turning participants into true ambassadors for nature. Every year, in addition to classic endurance and navigation challenges, competitors must also complete special tasks that test their knowledge of nature conservation and responsible environmental management.

From August 22 to 25, 2024, daring teams will embark on an intense competition set in a spectacular protected area. The route – revealed only at the last moment – will include a diverse mix of challenges designed to test both physical endurance and strategic, team-based skills:

• Mountain running
• Mountain biking
• Kayaking
• Orienteering (recreational and competitive)
• Surprise challenges, caving, and climbing

As with every edition, Propark Adventure Race is not just a competition – it is a learning experience, spotlighting the value of protected areas and promoting responsible nature tourism.

This edition also marks a special milestone for us: the consolidation of our vision to transform Propark Adventure Race into a sustainable model that can be adopted and organized by protected area administrations across Romania. We are proud to see this concept grow into a true platform for nature promotion and community-building among those passionate about adventure and the environment.
