Propark launches a new project in Armenia: Professionalising the Ecopatrol Service
In the summer of 2025, Propark Foundation initiated a new international project in Armenia, aiming to support the development of the Ecopatrol Service – a key structure for the protection of forests and natural areas. The project focuses on enhancing the professional skills of field staff by integrating internationally recognised competencies and building a strong training system.
The first phase of the project took place between July 7–14 and included:
- institutional meetings with the leadership of Ecopatrol Service and Armenia’s Ministry of Environment;
- a strategic workshop in Yerevan (July 9) with EPS leaders and coordinators;
- a hands-on workshop in the Syunik region (July 11) with the pilot EPS team.
Strategic goals of the project include:
- developing a framework to integrate international ranger competences into EPS structures;
- designing a national training and capacity building plan;
- building a basic training curriculum tailored to Armenia’s needs.
Through this project, Propark contributes to building a more effective and sustainable system for nature protection, grounded in professional capacity and international best practices.
